Lapide concordia 2000

It's the last week of October, the weather is crystal clear and wann, the winds fair, and it seems premature to be committing the boat to winter storage when the sailing is at its best! Then again, I also remember years shoveling snow off the deck and motoring over to the Travelift in snow squalls, so I guess it's appropriate that all good things come to an end for a few months. Issue 30 You'll find a variety of information in this issue of the newsletter and a listing of owners with updates made since last spring.

It also appears that some of the more tired examples are finding new homes and to date I don't know of any boats that have been forsaken. Have a Good Winter! Best to you and your crew and thanks for your continued interest in Concordia Yawls!

Enneberg (I- Südtirol) \

I look forward to hearing from you for the Spring issue. I have looked over the keelbolt article and the procedure here is still the same and describes the methods developed here over the years. Also see keelbolt article on page 8.

It looks like we may have one or two to do this winter and we will let you know ifwe come up with any refinements. We are planning for around 12 Concordia Yawls at the yard this winter with the usual wide range of structural and cosmetic upgrades. Brodie MacGregor can supply additional information about these boats. Some owners have expressed interest in starting a comprehensive Web page for Concordia information.

The page would be a resource like the newsletter to provide information on the boats and could be developed into a chat page.

Brodie's daughter, Alison Barth, is planning to work on such a project as an enhancement to Concordia Company's page.

Pam Parker also has plans to begin working on a page this winter, so there is definitely interest among the Concordia family.

Perhaps Pam and Alison will work together on this project and would no doubt welcome the input of anyone else. At some point we may also see about putting the newsletter online. The comments on this bibliography aim to include information on some, or all, of the following:.

In the Press. It is a work of unequalled, we should say unapproached value. We specially entreat the clergy on no account to neglect obtaining so vast a treasure of saintly wisdom, even if in so doing they are obliged to sacrifice many volumes far inferior to it in real helpfulness.

Cornelius h Lapide loses none of its charms in the clear, pure, vigorous English of its present translation ; indeed, we confess that it seems to borrow a new beauty and allurement from its English dress.

There is about it a clear- ness of thought, a many-sided method of looking at truth, an insight into the deeper meaning, and a fearless devotion to Asrhat appears to him to be truth, which lend a peculiar charm to all that he writes. We heartily commend the work to our ministerial readers.

Mossman has done his part well, as an able and sympathetic scholar might be expected to do ; and the book, both in execution and translation, is worthy of its author. TO IX. The dignity, usefulness, and majesty of Scripture are so great that it surpasses the books of all philosophers and theologians, both Hebrew, Greek, and Latin, as much as Divine surpasses human wisdom. For Scripture is the Word of God.

It is the very utterance of God, by means of which God enunciates His wisdom to us, and points out to us the way to virtue, health, and eternal happiness.David L. With fall programming well underway in many congre.John — The Lord Jesus grants this same Spirit to His Church on earth to proclaim Him glorified on the cross and risen victorious from the grave for us sinners.

In the Church Year, the color is red for Pentecost, symbolizing the fire of the Holy Spirit and the tongues of fire that rested on the Apostles. The Lord is the Lord of all nations. Red signifies blood. In the flags of nations, shedding of blood can mean valor and strength. The blood of Christ and the Holy Spirit is for you! Jesus died for the life of the world. The many flags of the world with the color of red can be a salutary reminder that God so loved the world, He gave His only-begotten Son.

His blood covers the earth. The Holy Spirit who descended on the Galileans gathered in Jerusalem and then gave the gift of language to speak the Gospel for all the nations gathered there for Pentecost Acts 2: Many translations of the Bible have the words of Christ in the color of red. The Lord sends out the Apostles as witnesses Johnwith the Spirit to forgive and retain sin John This is for all nations as even the secular flags of the world give mute witness to the Lord of all nations shedding His blood for the life of the world and sending the Holy Spirit in His Church to preach the Blood of Christ.

The great commentary of Cornelius à Lapide

Luke 1: Closer to home, the twin towers of the World Trade Center in Manhattan were a conspicuous sign of corporate power and influence, no doubt the reason for them being a target for the murderers from the east. Reflect with me on the contrast between a tale of two cities and the Tale of Two Wombs. The blessed wombs of Elizabeth and Mary are about peace, the peace of God which surpasses understanding which keeps our hearts and minds in Christ Philippians The cities and towers of this world offer temporal peace, the children of Elizabeth and Mary give eternal peace, not as the world gives.
